Luz: Girl of the Knowing

That image is from Luz: Girl of the Knowing - Episode 4 by Claudia Dávila (”Fran”) (in Toronto)

Claudia’s work is important because she’s grappling with peak oil & gas in a fresh way — a way that may reach people who haven’t connected with other presentations (e.g. The End of Suburbia, e.g. Kunstler’s blog, etc).

Of course, the comic is only one approach to the future that might come and how we might respond to it. We can’t know what will happen, and there are several strategies and visions out there. Claudia’s take is a relatively positive one, I think. She sure isn’t advocating a Mad Max or Night of the Living Dead last-one-standing and/or bunker-building vision. So the comic doesn’t only put peak oil & gas issues on the table in a new way; it’s also a constructive approach.
